FAQ: 1hp garbage disposal
I read the greater the horse power the faster the motor will spin the blade... my mistrust is truly what does a 1 HP motor do more then a 1/3 HP motor does or even a 1/2 HP motor I run-down it's only left food shouldn't need to much power to chop up...
A: a 1 hp is overkill but do get a 1/2 horse. It doesn't incontrovertibly spin faster, it spins with greater force so that the motor works less incontestable on grinding peels and such. a 1/3 will wear out faster, bog down easier, etc.

It’s not in reality fair to poke fun I suppose. Our kids will laugh with we’re 60 and we don’t distinguish which button turns on the garbage disposal and which one vents plasma from the starbord nacelles.
